Green LED vs Red LED vs Infrared LED

The ring is equipped with three different LED colors, each serving a specific purpose based on their unique intensity and wavelength properties.

Red LED: The red LED is known for its ability to penetrate the skin up to 10 times deeper, resulting in a high fidelity signal. However, it is important to note that the red LED also exhibits a higher signal-to-noise ratio and is more susceptible to motion artifacts.

Infrared LED: On the other hand, the infrared LEDs share similar characteristics with red LEDs but offer greater resistance to various factors such as different skin tones, tattoos, and tanning.

Green LED: The green LED, while less sensitive, is more resilient to motion artifacts, ensuring a more robust performance in the presence of movement.

For the measurement of SpO2, a combination of both infrared and red LEDs is necessary.

It is worth mentioning that in terms of global power consumption of the ring, the green LED consumes relatively equal power than the red LED.
