Bluetooth Connection issue: I can't find / see / connect / reconnect my ring in the app

It's completely normal for your ring to take a few seconds to connect when you open the app. The ring uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a technology designed to be highly energy-efficient. To save battery, the connection isn't always on. It only activates when the app is open and needs to sync data.

In some cases, you may experience ring disconnection issues. Please follow the instructions below:

In case you have already connected to your ring at least once:

  1. Place your ring on the charger and make sure it has been charged for at least 30 minutes. Check that your phone's GPS localization & Bluetooth are activated. Check your phone settings to ensure that all app permissions are allowed for your Circular app. Make sure your phone is not in Power Saving Mode, which can limit Bluetooth functionality. After double-checking, kill the Circular app (swiped from the background running apps). And Restart your app. If you can't reconnect after that, please follow the next step.

  1. Keep your ring on the charger, go into My ring or Setup > Manage my ring, check that the ring is marked as "Paired to your account" and "Active". If it is on the list but not activated, click on the "Activate" button and wait for 10 seconds. If it's not on the list, click on Set up a new ring and follow the instructions to connect and accept the pairing/bonding pop-up. If you can't reconnect after that, please follow the next step.

  1. Keep your ring on the charger,

  • Go into My ring > Manage my ring > click on the ❌red cross to disassociate the ring from your app if there is one. Please note that you need a stable internet connection to unpair with your Circular Ring.
  • Kill the app (swiped from the background running app).
  • Then go into your phone's Bluetooth settings > check if your ring is in the list of associated devices. If it is, please delete/unpair the ring from your phone's Bluetooth associated devices.
  • Restart your phone, start the app, and go to "My Ring". Click on Set up new ring and follow the instructions to connect to your ring and accept the pairing/bonding pop-up. Please note that you need a stable internet connection to pair with your Circular Ring.

  1. Confirm that your ring can connect to your phone when it is charged, but also outside of the charger. If your ring disconnects from your phone just after removing it from the charger, please let the support know at https://www.circular.xyz/contact-us.

If you are using a phone provided by your employer, they might have an internal firewall that prevents our app from using Bluetooth because they didn't whitelisted our app. In that case you need to use a personal phone.
