Why are my data incomplete in the Circular App?

Calibration period

When you create your account, you enter a 14-day calibration period during which Kira, your personal assistant, will learn about you. During the first 4 days, you'll have limited data in your sleep and energy circles. Basically, everything that needs references and baselines, which are derived from the long-term average, is being built. Learn more about the calibration period.

My Ring No Longer Records Heart Rate or Occasionally

If your Circular Ring now shows no data—or only picks up one heart rate reading from time to time—this may indicate that your PPG sensor needs recalibration.

🔹 Why does this happen

Over time, environmental factors or small variations in how the ring sits on your finger can affect how the PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor detects if you're wearing the ring or not.

What to do: Run a Self-Diagnostic

You can quickly recalibrate your PPG sensor by performing a Self Diagnostic from the Circular app.

To do this:

  1. Open the Circular app.
  2. Go to Settings → Under "Support" Category.
  3. Select Self Diagnostic.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps carefully to complete the test (you'll need a flat white paper).

Once the process is done, wear your ring normally and allow it to collect new data for the next few hours.

Verifying Successful Recalibration

After recalibrating, confirm that the issue is resolved by:

  1. Returning to the Live Measurements circle.
  2. Checking if the Quality Index now displays your data.

If the problem persists, please contact our support team for further assistance.
